Yeah, That's the Ticket...Another New York Magazine!

Uh oh:

Current and former staff members described an awkward and, at times, combative first meeting with Mr. Lacey in early February. In the meeting, Mr. Lacey likened some Voice reporters to "stenographers," said Mr. Schanberg, who was present. Mr. Schanberg left the paper within the week, although he was not a full-time staff member, he said, paid instead for individual articles.

"He didn't like the front of the book, where all the commentary was," said Mr. Schanberg, who wrote just such a column about the press. "It didn't sound like he was too eager about that kind of coverage."

Mr. Schanberg and Mr. Robbins said it was widely believed that the new leadership of The Voice intended to cut columnists and national reporting to create more space for long, magazine-style narratives set in New York.
