You can't write "he is certainly not Pangloss or tout-va-bienovich" and "[T]he conversation has to include their understanding that they cannot fuck with us or with our allies without incurring heavy cost" -- in the same post, and expect to be taken seriously.


Of course, it's also slightly embarrassing to have to ask your wife for allowance...
